Course Description

This instructor-led training course presents the CommScope Distributed CCAP Architecture (DCA) HLX Domain Manager Graphical User Interface using the new Flexible template configuration process.

A prerequisite online eLearning training course is available that must be completed before attending this training course: E6D108 HLX Domain Manager Overview. It is also essential that students enrolling in this class have attended an RD3 Series Remote MACPHY CLI configuration instructor-led training course, such as E6D242 Remote MACPHY Overview and Implementation/CLI, or the student already has sufficient hands-on experience to independently configure a Remote MACPHY using the command line interface.

Audience

CATV head-end personnel, network engineers, and field personnel responsible for networks that provide high-speed data-over-cable services.

Objectives

• Identify the basic groups of basic commands that are used to configure a CommScope RD2322 or RD2312 Remote MACPHY
• Understand the Flexible template configuration steps and types of templates that must be configured, and the preferred order in doing so, to effectively complete an HLX Domain Manager RMD Flexible template configuration.
• Review commands that may be used when performing maintenance and troubleshooting in the RMD system.

Prerequisites: 

• Complete the E6D108 HLX Domain Manager Overview online training course.7
• A basic understanding of CATV systems, RF plant fundamentals and data networking, and 
• The student should also have DOCSIS knowledge (TEC202 and/or TEC301 and TEC302 recommended) and CMTS working experience, such as experience with the E6000 CER (E6D201: E6000 CER Operations instructor-led course with E6D101: E6000 CER Hardware Overview recommended).
